Social Well
Teamwork, communication, and belonging.
The Social Well is about relationships: listening, cooperating, including others, and building a classroom where everyone belongs. Schools use it to recognise the social skills that make learning together possible — on the carpet, in group work, at lunch, and in the wider community.
What this Well consists of
The Social Well gives staff shared language for experiences beyond a single subject grade — clubs, corridors, liturgy, playtimes, and community life.
- Listening and turn-taking in discussion
- Cooperating fairly in pair and group work
- Including others and resolving conflict peacefully
- Showing confidence when working with peers
- Contributing to class and school community life

What the Social Well does
For pupils & families
When a teacher records Social participation, the pupil sees it on their profile. Parents may receive conversation prompts rooted in that recognition. Where Five Wells Journey is enabled, Social progress opens Community Harbour — “Together is better.”
For leaders
Social awards reveal who is being noticed for belonging and teamwork — and who may need pastoral support or deliberate opportunities to participate in group life.
