Mindful Well

Focus, reflection, and emotional balance in school life.

The Mindful Well is where schools recognise children’s inner life: attention, self-regulation, gratitude, and care for themselves and the world around them. It is not a behaviour score — it celebrates moments when pupils pause, reflect, and grow in steadiness.

What this Well consists of

The Mindful Well gives staff shared language for experiences beyond a single subject grade — clubs, corridors, liturgy, playtimes, and community life.

  • Quiet focus and listening in lessons or prayer
  • Reflection after learning or liturgy
  • Managing feelings with support from adults
  • Gratitude, stewardship, and care for creation
  • Patience, perseverance, and thoughtful choices

Examples staff might recognise

Schools define their own activity names; these are typical Mindful moments primary colleagues celebrate.

  • Stayed focused during a challenging task
  • Used a calm-down strategy independently
  • Led a moment of reflection or prayer
  • Showed gratitude to staff or classmates
  • Cared for classroom resources or outdoor spaces

What the Mindful Well does

For staff

Staff record Mindful recognition against school activities — assemblies, RE, pastoral moments, or your own phrases. Over time, leaders see whether mindful participation is visible across classes and groups.

For pupils & families

Pupils see Mindful recognition on their dashboard and, where enabled, progress in Reflection Ridge on Five Wells Journey — a visual story that focus and reflection matter at your school.

For leaders

Analytics show Mindful awards alongside other Wells so you can ask: are quieter strengths being noticed, or is recognition skewed toward one area only?
